Doughnuts, Dreams and Drama Queens – Children’s recommendation
Doughnuts, Dreams and Drama Queens, written by Leila Rasheed, published in 2009 by Usborne Books.
Image: amazon.com Bathsheba wants to become a star in Hollywood, so she goes to Dramarama Club. Her best friend, Keisha, was supposed to go with her, but her grandmother unfortunately fell ill and she had to go and see her, leaving Bath to go all by herself. I won’t tell you any more, it’s a Dramarama secret! If you want to find out more read this amazing book.! It’s full of perseverance, relentless competition and there is a secret passage way…
This story made me feel happy, funny, sad, curious and excited.
Leila Rasheed has written three funny, diary-style books from the point of view of a girl called Bathsheba Clarice de Trop. Bathsheba (Bath for short) is as over the top and original as her name. Doughnuts, Dreams and Drama Queens is the third book in this series.
I recommend this book, especially if you are into secrets. I think it’s fun to read. My favourite part was the ending because her dreams come true. There were many funny bits.
I learned never to give up on yourself.
