Displays play an important part in the classroom as they aid learning and provide visual stimulus for the children. Research published by the University of Salford showed that well-designed classrooms can improve learning progress in primary school pupils by up to 16%.
Below is a display idea for science and magnetism. I find that magnetism is such a hands on topic and may be quite challenging to display. I came up with this 3D magnet idea to attract the children’s attention and hopefully help them remember some of the non-magnetic and magnetic materials from our class investigations.
It’s an easy display to create. For the magnet, all you need is some card. Cut out a magnet shape (horseshoe) out of the left over card, make cut rectangles and roll into a cylinder. Staple or stick at the back of the magnet and then pin on the board!
The final result is something like this!
I hope this post inspired you to create magnificent displays for your pupils!
Till next time…
