Matilda is a children’s novel by British writer Roald Dahl. It was published in 1988 by Jonathan Cape in London and the illustrations are by Quentin Blake.
Matilda uses her magical powers to help Miss Honey get her big, old house back from Miss Trunchbull, who stole the papers for the ownership. Matilda and Miss Honey have a closer friendship as the story goes on.
My favourite and most amusing part was when Matilda used her powers to incredibly levitate a piece of white chalk, so she could write an important message to the terrifying Trunchbull, to help Miss Honey.
Anything is possible!
I totally recommend this amazing book to all children because it is so entertaining and interesting to read.

love all things Dahl! Over the summer I created an entire unit around BFG for my 7 and 3 year old in honor of the new movie release. I showed my daughter, who watches no live action movies Matilda not long ago and she was absolutely drawn in by her first live action film. Dahl’s imagination and incredibly colorful perspective of the world makes for his books to be loved throughout the ages. 🙂

That sounds creative, Shopgirlanonymous. What sort of unit? I love Roald Dahl books too, and so do the children in my class. ❤
Thanks for taking the time to comment. 🙂
